Fantastic quaint cottage in a great position being only a short walk to the town centre. Lovely sitting room with a big dining table, big modern TV and good wifi and a small but well appointed kitchen with all mod cons including an air fryer. Also there is a nice outside courtyard space. Two large bedrooms, one ensuite (shower) and another larger bathroom with a bath and shower next to bedroom 2. Two parking spaces big enough for any size car are situated a very short walk away (entrance on the right to the business centre just past the cottage if travelling from Crosthwaite Road (A5271) going towards the town centre). Porch Cottage has everything you need for your stay and and I can ‘t recommend highly enough. Owners were very responsive and easily contactable if any issues. Only thing to bear in mind is that downstairs has underfloor heating that is set, so if too warm best call Steven (number in handbook) and he will sort out (lives over the road). We had a great stay and would not hesitate in coming back to Porch Cottage in the future.

Cosy, location, clean, comfortable

Just enjoyed a week at Porch Cottage, November 2025. Especially liked the underfloor heating in the living room, it was so warm, we had no reason to use the log burner.

The bedrooms are lovely, felt as though you had entered a boutique hotel bedroom. Also really enjoyed the waterfall showers not to mention the lovely deep bath. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need.

Only a few minutes to walk into Keswick and around 15 minutes to walk to the lake from the cottage. Not to mention the stunning scenery.

This house would be on our wish list if we won the lottery, in all honesty we felt like we had won the lottery, well for one week only ! Cannot wait to go back.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Porch Cottage. Everything anyone could want was available in this delightful cottage, and the welcome tea, coffee, milk etc were extremely welcome after our long journey. The outside enclosed seating area was a bonus, and the outdoor bath magical, for bathing whilst looking up at the stars. The parking was very helpful, and the decor and facilities were perfect in every way. We didn’t want to leave, and will certainnly return as soon as we can. Having connection with the owners was also lovely.

We had a lovely stay in Keswick at this cottage. It’s centrally located and is beautifully furnished with everything you need you need for a great holiday, Great communication from the owner and would definitely return.

I was due to be at a local campsite last week but my motorhome let me down. I was incredibly lucky to find this gorgeous cottage available at short notice. It was absolutely perfect for me and my dog. Just a stones throw from Keswick centre and a few minutes from the campsite so I was still able to see my friends. The courtyard proved a perfect place for them to come for a cuppa in the dry. I just loved the bath outside – perfectly private and great to ease sore muscles after a long walk. And the nook in the second bedroom perfect to sit and craft. The cottage really had everything, down to dog beds, throws and even dog biscuits! Everything top quality and perfectly clean. The dedicated parking places close by were invaluable too. If ever I’m in the area without the motorhome this is definitely where I would want to stay.

Just had a wonderful week in Porch Cottage with my husband and our two small terriers Hugo and Rio.

The cottage is so classy and stylish. Beautiful furniture and tastefully decorated. Everything you could need in the kitchen, luxurious showers and a glorious deep bath, which I just about managed to get out of!. I have an arthritic back and was so relieved at how comfortable the beds were, yes I slept in them both …… well, my husband snores lol !

Stunning walks in the most picturesque scenery. We felt as though we had stepped into a picture postcard dream. Lots of lovely restaurants and pubs and beautiful lakes to visit. Highly recommend!

My wife and I spent last week in Porch Cottage which is amazing. Everything in the cottage is of high standard and very clean. We were very lucky with the weather but I am sure it will be as welcoming in the winter with the log burner glowing. The location of the cottage is very good being close to town and some great walks. Finally, Stephen and Di are great hosts and welcomed us on the day we arrived. Highly recommended. Theresa and Paul

We have just got home having stayed a week in Porch cottage, which is just perfect ! It is a beautiful cottage, decorated to a very high standard, so very comfortable, spotlessly clean and welcoming, in a great location with beautiful views.

We had a wonderful week, enjoying many beautiful walks around the lakes, Buttermere, Derwent and Grasmere are all gorgeous. We had lovely meals at The Inn on the square and Casa Bella which are a 5 minute walk away, also The Swinside Inn which is a very short drive away.

It was a wonderful holiday and we very much look forward to coming back. A big thank you to Stephen and Di.

We stayed at Porch Cottage from 18th to 24th January and had a great time. The cottage is beautifully appointed, cosy and very well equipped. Most days we were able to leave the car in the convenient parking bay and walk from the door: there are plenty of local walks. Being on holiday we didn’t use the kitchen much except for breakfast: there are plenty of pleasant pubs in easy walking distance from the cottage, notably the Pheasant (booking recommended) and the Dog and Gun at the other end of town.

Stephen and Di decorated the Cottage and provided goodies to get the holiday started.

The Cottage had everything you need for a relaxing, and warm stay and very close to Keswick town centre and all amenities.

A beautiful cottage with everything you need to make your stay perfect. Once you’ve parked up you don’t need to think about driving again as everything is so close by.

The owners, Stephen and Diane, are on hand if you need them to make sure your stay is the best it can be.

Another wonderful stay at this charming 17th century cottage with superb facilities. This

accommodation is in a great location in Keswick with stunning views and a luxurious feel. It comes with allocated parking spaces which is a bonus. Definitely worthy of its 5* rating.

Very enjoyable holiday staying at Porch Cottage. The Cottage is lovely, extremely comfortable and well appointed, with everything you want. The outdoor courtyard was a bonus, as was the dedicated parking space. It was perfect for a relaxing holiday. It is a cottage with the features and low ceilings in places which you would expect. The location is great – we were able to walk in the hills (e.g. Skiddaw, Cat Bells and Latrigg) and round the lake straight from our door, and also enjoy all the amenities of Keswick. The welcome milk and biscuits were very thoughtful. Somewhere we would stay again.

Beautifully maintained 17th century cottage. No expense spared with the decor, furnishings, bed linens or kitchen equipment. Look out for low doorways, part ot the charm of a lovely old cottage. Lovely spa bath area outside . Friendly, helpful communication with the owner. Easy walking distance to Keswick shops, pubs and restaurants. Fantastic views front and back

We’ve had a lovely week thank you, although the weather could have been kinder to us 🤣🤣 but it never stops us doing what we want to do, it really is our home from home.

Porch cottage is looking absolutely fantastic, we immediately noticed all the things that have been changed, everything is top spec and you have a great eye for detail and putting things together.

I’m sure we will be booking again very soon 🥳🥳

A character cottage – super comfy beds – luxurious towels – powerful showers big bathrooms – cosy and warm when we arrived. Well stocked kitchen.

We came from Canada, and everything about our stay was lovely. Location, cleanliness, amenities…everything. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Ian (next door neighbour and manager) was absolutely lovey and very helpful.

A lovely place right on the main street. The offroad parking is a great idea as Keswick can get pretty busy. We loved that old door and the rest of the period features. A great stay thank you :)

Very nicely appointed cottage. Good quality kitchen and bathroom appliances. Comfortable lounge with plenty of room for 4 people. Shops and local amenities all within walking distance, so no hassle with parking. An excellent base for a walking or site seeing visit to the Lake District.

Have just spent a wonderful week at Porch Cottage in a great location within an easy 5 minute walk into Keswick centre. The cottage is well equipped and was very comfortable for my wife and I, and especially my elderly parents. There are really nice touches to the cottage which maximise its location- there are great views front & back. Could not fault the property 10/10 for 4 people staying in beautiful Keswick.

All the character you expect of a cottage but with added luxury. Absolutely everything needed and an ideal location 300m from the village. Magical at Xmas.

Enjoyed a week in this lovely cottage just walking distance from the heart of Keswick. Lovely shops n cafes and resturants in under 10mins and beautiful walks within 15 mins. Period cottage, clean and luxurious and steeped in history. A wonderful idyll and home from home..
